Personal Brand
"It's amazing what you can accomplish when you don't give a fuck about people." – Louis CK
To my view, the injunction of developing one's "personal brand" in the workplace serves as a moral buffer. It's a form of objectification. One use of objects is to circumvent morality; we can do with objects what we cannot (or won't allow ourselves to) do with one another. Why is it important to be viewed, not as individuals in a corporate setting, but rather a bundle of promises and expectations (i.e. a brand)?
